Bureau Veritas Code Compliance helps building owners, developers, and contractors navigate complex building codes and regulatory requirements. We provide expert review, analysis, and consultation to ensure projects meet all applicable local, state, and national codes.
Position Overview
We are seeking an Engineer in Training (EIT) or Engineer to join our Code Compliance team in Georgia. This role offers an excellent opportunity to develop and apply expertise in building codes, regulatory compliance, and construction standards while supporting our clients in delivering compliant, safe projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct code compliance reviews of architectural and engineering designs
- Analyze building plans and specifications against applicable codes and standards
- Prepare compliance reports and recommendations for clients
- Support senior engineers in audit and inspection activities
- Communicate code requirements and findings to clients and project teams
- Maintain knowledge of current building codes and regulatory updates
- Assist in research and documentation of compliance issues
- Contribute to project delivery and client satisfaction
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Civil, Architectural, or related engineering discipline (or equivalent experience)
- Valid EIT certification or eligibility to obtain EIT certification
- Strong understanding of building codes and construction standards
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and relevant software tools
- Valid driver's license
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in code compliance, construction, design review, or related field
- Familiarity with IBC, local building codes, or energy codes
- Experience with plan review or design analysis
- Knowledge of accessibility standards (ADA) or fire/life safety codes
