Inspector Associate I (Truck/Railcar) – Brownsville, TX

 

Position Overview

 

Bureau Veritas seeks a detail-oriented and versatile Inspector Level 1 (Truck/Railcar) to join our Brownsville, Texas operations. This position offers a unique opportunity to develop expertise across multiple inspection disciplines in a dynamic, cross-functional environment. The successful candidate will be based in Brownsville, TX with rotational assignments to Harlingen, TX, and will be integral to supporting our comprehensive inspection operations.

 

Key Responsibilities

 

- Truck & Railcar Inspections: Conduct thorough inspections of trucks and railcars, including structural integrity, safety compliance, and documentation verification

- Cross-Functional Training: Participate in comprehensive cross-training programs in:

  - Railcar inspection protocols

  - Truck inspection procedures

  - Marine inspection operations (barge, vessel, and shore tank sampling)

- Quality Assurance: Ensure all inspections meet Bureau Veritas standards and regulatory requirements

- Documentation: Maintain accurate inspection records and reports in compliance with company procedures

- Operational Support: Provide flexible support across multiple inspection areas to optimize team coverage and efficiency

- Travel: Rotate between Brownsville and Harlingen locations as operational needs require

 

Required Qualifications

 

- High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification preferred, TWIC CARD

- Be able to work shift work. 

- Must be able to work in the elements

- Ability to obtain and maintain relevant inspection certifications

- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills

- Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record

- Willingness to participate in comprehensive cross-training programs

- Ability to work independently and as part of a team

- Physical capability to perform field inspections (climbing, lifting, standing for extended periods)

Compensation & Benefits

Hourly Rate: $16.00 - $18.00 per hour (based on experience and qualifications)
