Job Responsibilities:

• Oversee and manage the inspection and certification of lifting equipment used in the oil and gas industry.
• Ensure compliance with international legislation, standards, and specifications regarding lifting equipment.
• Lead and conduct inspections, testing, and evaluations of lifting machinery.
• Review and approve lifting plans, ensuring adherence to safety protocols and industry standards.
• Provide expert guidance on the failure investigation of lifting equipment.
• Conduct training courses for personnel on the safe use of lifting equipment.
• Produce and review technical reports for inspections and certifications.

Job Qualifications:

• Academic Qualifications: Hold an HND in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline. A degree in Mechanical Engineering is preferred.
• Technical Qualifications:
  • Be an Incorporated or Chartered Engineer.
  • Have level 2 qualifications in NDE techniques such as UT, Radiography, MPI/DPI, and Painting/Coatings.
  • Minimum CSWIP 3.1 or equivalent in welding inspection.
  • Qualified as a lead auditor.
• Years of Experience:
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in lifting and certification.
  • At least 5 years of experience as a Senior Surveyor.
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in the inspection and certification of lifting equipment in the oil and gas industry.
• Background Requirements:
  • Comprehensive knowledge of international standards and legislation related to lifting equipment.
  • Competence in writing procedures, standards, specifications, and work instructions.
  • Proficiency in reviewing lift plans and conducting failure investigations.
  • Fluent in written and spoken English.
  • Capable of delivering training courses for lifting equipment.
