Role Description
Project Type: Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) studies, Environmental Product Declarations (EPD), Carbon Footprint Analysis, Sustainability Reporting
Position Purpose:
We are seeking highly qualified LCA experts to conduct comprehensive Life Cycle Assessment studies for clients in Romania and the EU. The selected professionals will be responsible for conducting rigorous environmental assessments, managing data collection, performing impact analysis, and delivering detailed sustainability reports, operating with technical autonomy and adherence to international standards.
Main Responsibilities
- LCA Study Execution: Conducting comprehensive Life Cycle Assessment studies in compliance with ISO 14040/14044 standards, including goal definition, scoping, inventory analysis, and impact assessment
- Data Collection and Management: Gathering primary and secondary data from supply chains, manufacturing processes, and stakeholders; ensuring data quality and traceability
- Life Cycle Inventory (LCI) Analysis: Developing detailed inventory models, quantifying inputs/outputs, and managing data in LCA software (SimaPro, GaBi, OpenLCA)
- Life Cycle Impact Assessment (LCIA): Performing environmental impact calculations using recognized methodologies (ReCiPe, TRACI, CML, ILCD)
- Environmental Product Declaration (EPD) Development: Creating EPD certifications and registrations with recognized bodies (EPD International, Product Environmental Footprint)
- Carbon Footprint and Sustainability Reporting: Calculating greenhouse gas emissions, preparing sustainability reports, and communicating results to stakeholders
- Scenario Analysis and Optimization: Conducting sensitivity analyses, identifying improvement opportunities, and recommending environmental mitigation strategies
- Client Consultation and Support: Providing technical guidance, interpreting results, and supporting clients in sustainability decision-making
- Regulatory Compliance: Ensuring compliance with EU Environmental Footprint (EF) methodology, PEF requirements, and local environmental regulations
- Documentation and Quality Assurance: Maintaining comprehensive project documentation, ensuring traceability, and verifying compliance with standards

Requirements
Experience
- Minimum 3-5 years in LCA consulting, environmental assessment, or sustainability services
- Proven experience conducting LCA studies for diverse sectors (manufacturing, energy, construction, consumer goods)
- Experience with ISO 14040/14044 standard compliance
- Knowledge of EU Environmental Footprint (EF) and Product Environmental Footprint (PEF) methodologies
- Familiarity with supply chain environmental assessment
Technical Competencies
- Deep knowledge of LCA methodology and ISO 14040/14044 standards
- Proficiency in LCA software (SimaPro, GaBi, or OpenLCA)
- Understanding of environmental impact categories (climate change, water use, resource depletion, etc.)
- Data collection and inventory analysis expertise
- Knowledge of environmental databases (Ecoinvent, USDA, industry-specific databases)
- Familiarity with EPD registration and certification processes
- Understanding of GHG Protocol and carbon accounting methodologies
