· Responsible for receiving, inspecting, splitting, shipping, logging and archiving samples. Responsible for handling special projects, custom work and to provide general lab support in accordance with departmental standard operating procedures and health and safety policies.
Key Accountability/Responsibilities:
· Able to log in samples with no errors in LIMS
· Review and understand client CoC and follow provided instructions
· Understand different parts in a sample, and how they should be logged
· Receive, dry, weight, inspect and start logging process of each submission
· Ship samples for preparation and analysis to subcontracted labs
· When required, splitting and compositing samples following client instructions
· Assist supervisor in training or cross training when applicable
· Archive and dispose samples
· Conduct routine verification and calibration of lab equipment (ovens, balances) per BV protocols
· Monitors lab inventory to ensure critical supplies are stocked or re-ordered
· Be familiar with routine testing and the LIMS systems, aliquoting and distribution to the other departments
· Adheres to Bureau Veritas Code of Ethics Policy
· Supports and complies with all Bureau Veritas policies, Quality System and Health & Safety program
· Participates, when requested in department and health and safety meetings
· Participates, when requested in internal and external audits
· Keeps work area clean, neat and organized
· Maintains training records and relevant qualifications
· Performs other miscellaneous duties as assigned by the Supervisor and/or Manager
· All other responsibilities as assigned

· High School diploma
· Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
· Excellent communication and organizational skills
· Accurately follows Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s) and instructions
· Positive outlook with an ability to work in a fast-paced environment
· Good time-management, communication, multi-tasking and priority setting skills
· Adapt to a changing environment
· Work both independently and as part of a team
· Team and customer service oriented
· Detail oriented with accurate record keeping skills
· Learn quickly
Work Relationships
· Internal: Customer Service, Quality Assurance, Technical Support Groups, Human Resources, peers for support and information
Working Conditions: physical work environment, physical effort, visual and listening attention, and travel
· High level of work production in fast paced lab environment
· May require flexible workings hours, overtime and shift work
· May involve long periods of computer usage
· May require the use of N95 mask when splitting or composting samples
· Hazardous materials are handled using established safety procedures and appropriate PPE
· Lifting up to 50 lbs
· May involve long periods of standing
