Key Responsibilities:
- Prospecting and qualifying new leads in the power and utility industry through networking, cold calling, and other lead generation activities
- Developing and executing strategic sales plans to achieve individual and team sales targets
- Conducting market research to stay up-to-date on industry trends, competitor offerings, and customer pain points
- Preparing and delivering compelling sales presentations and proposals that showcase the company's products and services
- Negotiating contract terms and closing sales deals with power and utility clients
- Managing a sales pipeline and accurately forecasting future sales
- Building and maintaining strong, long-term relationships with existing power and utility customers
- Providing excellent customer service and addressing client needs and concerns in a timely manner
- Collaborating with cross-functional teams, such as engineering, operations, and product development, to support sales efforts
- Staying abreast of regulatory changes, technological advancements, and other industry developments
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- 8+ years of sales experience in the power and utility industry, with a proven track record of success
- In-depth knowledge of the power and utility sector, including generation, transmission, and distribution
- Strong technical aptitude and understanding of energy technologies, such as renewable energy, smart grid solutions, and energy efficiency
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to tailor messaging to diverse stakeholders
- Proficient in using sales automation tools and customer relationship management (CRM) software
- Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, business, or a related field; advanced degree preferred
- Willingness to travel to client sites as needed
