Become part of a dynamic team: Based in Cherbourg, you will join a team of technical specialists dedicated to ensuring the compliance of ships and marine equipment with classification rules and international regulations.
Your main responsibilities:
- Monitor new ship constructions to ensure compliance with Bureau Veritas standards;
- Conduct surveys and inspections on board ships in service, assessing compliance with applicable regulations and Bureau Veritas requirements.
- Carry out factory inspections and audits of materials and equipment intended for shipbuilding or maintenance.

Regular travel will be required within the Normandy region, and occasionally to neighboring areas. A company vehicle will be provided for professional use.
Your strengths to succeed:
- Degree in Naval Architecture, Marine Engineering, or Shipbuilding, or previous experience as an officer in the Merchant Navy or the French Navy;
- Strong technical knowledge of hull construction, welding, propulsion and onboard systems, safety, electrical systems, and naval architecture;
- Initial professional experience in shipbuilding, maintenance, or classification, demonstrating autonomy and accountability;
- Proficiency with digital tools and strong written communication skills;
- Rigor, curiosity, teamwork, and a strong customer-oriented mindset;
- Ability to communicate effectively with a variety of stakeholders in a demanding technical environment;
- Good command of English, both written and spoken, enabling interaction with international clients and colleagues.
