Hours Worked: Typically, Monday through Friday, forty-hours per week 1st shift.
However, must be flexible to meet the needs of the department and complete other projects as assigned.
Position Summary:
The Analytical Laboratory Technician II is responsible for supporting client laboratories for consumer beauty products. The technician will assist with various administrative and laboratory-based tasks. This will include receiving and logging samples, assisting with inventory management, digitizing compliance paperwork, preparing samples for analysis, assisting with routine equipment maintenance and calibrations, and doing basic solvent extractions following a written protocol.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Responsible for pulling and preparing samples for a variety of test methods
- Learn and update data systems according to protocols
- Clean, organize and maintain work area, glassware (e.g., refrigerators, freezers, and supply cabinets, as needed).
- Participate in the laboratory inventory program that provides adequate inventories of reagents and supplies.
- Perform routine instrument maintenance and calibrations
- Assist in administrative aspects of various departmental projects as directed.
- Sample inventory upkeep
- Use a grinder to prepare samples, requiring use of a respirator
- Weigh and extract samples using a written protocol
- Complies with SOPs and maintains all logbooks
- Complies with all safety guidelines.
- Follow the guidelines set forth with clients and in the company Quality, Health, Safety, Security and Environmental policies and procedures.
- Comply with clients and company management systems in accordance with appropriate regulatory agencies.
- Follows the guidelines set forth in by clients and the company Quality Manual and Safety / Chemical Hygiene Plan.
- Other duties as defined by Manager, department needs and workload.
Skills & Proficiencies:
- Must have strong attention to detail and the ability to learn quickly
- Must have good customer service skills- job is client facing and performed in client laboratory
- Must be proficient in basic programs such as Microsoft Word and Excel
- Written and verbal communication skills including the ability to communicate effectively in a group setting, with colleagues and clients
- Ability to work as part of a team
- Familiarity with a chemistry laboratory environment
- Positive attitude, self-motivated, high level of engagement

Education and Experience:
- Associates Degree in scientific field
- Previous laboratory experience preferred but not required
An equivalent combination of education and experience may be accepted in lieu of above.
Compensation Range: $19 - $21 hourly (e.g., the job posting is not necessarily reflective of actual compensation that may be earned, and actual compensation is subject to variation due to such factors as locations, education, experience, and skillset)
