Are you looking to play a central role in the operational management and oversight of the fleet of vessels in service worldwide? Join our Operations Direction as a Deputy Operational Manager and contribute directly to operational excellence and regulatory compliance in our maritime activities.
Join a dynamic team:
Within the Fleet Management Department of the Operations Direction, you will be the direct assistant to an Operational Manager (MO) and support him/her in carrying out his/her missions.
You will work in a demanding international environment where technical rigor, regulatory compliance, and operational excellence are the cornerstones of our action.
Your role will be key in supporting the Operational Manager in overseeing the management activities of the fleet of vessels in service, working closely with Marine Operations Centers (MOCs), Remote Survey Centers (RSCs), and units located in dedicated geographic sectors.
Your main responsibilities:
Operational Supervision: Assist the Operational Manager in overseeing operational activities within the framework of Classification/Statutory Certification and Systems Certification
Technical Support: Provide operational technical support to MOCs, RSCs, and units within the MO's zone, ensuring compliance with Bureau Veritas standards
Internal Audits: Assign and conduct internal audits of entities under the responsibility of Ships in Service Quality Managers (SSQMs), Crew and System Quality Managers (CSQMs), Ships in Service & System Operations managers (SSOMs), MOCs, and RSCs
Quality Assurance: Ensure quality control of MOCs, RSCs, and SSQMs within the MO's zone, monitoring adherence to classification standards
Analysis and Reporting: Analyze internal and external complaints and claims; assess customer satisfaction levels regarding services delivered by Bureau Veritas M&O
Coordination: Coordinate activities between different operational entities and contribute to continuous process improvement
Your strengths to succeed:
Education and Experience:
Degree as a Merchant Navy Officer, Naval Architecture/Systems Engineer, or equivalent qualification
Minimum 5 years of experience in the maritime industry (Shipowner, Classification Society, Shipbuilder, etc.)
On-site experience as a surveyor (NS, MOC, etc.) is highly valued
In-depth knowledge of statutory regulations (SOLAS, MARPOL, etc.)
Personal Qualities:

Excellent analytical and synthesis skills
Strong interpersonal skills and adaptability in a multicultural environment
Language Skills:
Fluent English (written and spoken) essential for interaction with international teams and clients
