Discover an internship at the heart of quantitative analysis and modelling

Would you like to apply your skills in mathematical modeling, quantitative analysis, and tool development to a high-impact project?

Join our Operations Direction, based in La Défense (Paris area, France).

Within a team of engineers responsible for the development and modernization of technical and financial tools, you will contribute to the evolution of a strategic forecasting model used to estimate revenue related to Equipment & Materials certification in shipbuilding projects.

 

Your main responsibilities

Under the supervision of experienced engineers, you will contribute to all stages of the model analysis and improvement cycle:

 

1.Analyze the existing forecasting tool:

  • Understand the current mathematical model and its computational logic
  • Review assumptions, parameters, and model structure
  • Map data flows and identify key dependencies

 

2. Investigate model deviations

  • Perform backtesting and gap analysis between forecasts and actual data
  • Identify sources of discrepancies and model limitations
  • Analyze external factors impacting results (market conditions, regulatory changes, technical trends)

 

3. Improve and redevelop the model

  • Propose enhancements to the forecasting methodology
  • Develop improved components using quantitative techniques
  • Implement robust, modular, and scalable solutions

 

4. Document and structure the solution

  • Produce clear technical documentation for long-term maintenance
  • Define assumptions, parameterization rules, and validation processes
  • Present findings and recommendations to stakeholders

 

Your strengths to succeed

You are currently pursuing a Master’s degree (Engineering School or University) with a specialization in:

Applied Mathematics

Financial Engineering / Quantitative Finance

Data Science / Machine Learning

Modeling, Simulation, or Mathematical Engineering

 

Ideally, you also have:

Strong knowledge of statistical modeling and forecasting techniques

Experience working with mathematical or financial models

Programming skills (Python, VB, or equivalent)Analytical thinking, rigor, and problem-solving abilities

Strong communication and technical documentation skills

A good command of English in an international environment
