Drive commercial strategy through data and market insights
Reporting to the Sales & KAM Excellence Director, you will be responsible for transforming external data into actionable commercial insights.
You will work in a highly international and transversal environment, in close collaboration with regional sales teams, technical experts, and senior management, to identify growth opportunities and anticipate maritime market developments.
Location: Courbevoie (La Défense, Paris area)
Your main responsibilities
Global Market Intelligence
- Establish and structure a global Market Intelligence function from inception, leveraging external databases (Clarksons, Rystad Energy, Maritime Associate, Lloyd's List, IHS, and equivalent sources)
- Aggregate, analyze, and synthesize data from multiple external maritime and industrial databases to drive strategic market insights
- Create automated dashboards and reports tracking key market metrics (fleet trends, regulatory drivers, market sentiment, competitive positioning)
- Collaborate with Market Leaders to develop Market Intelligence reports by market segment
Fleet & Shipping Market Analysis
- Analyze global fleet statistics (age, composition, vessel type, sector trends, new order pipelines) to identify and predict New Construction Sales opportunities
- Monitor customer fleet changes and ownership transitions to identify CAC sales opportunities
- Track newbuild order books, delivery schedules, and retrofit/conversion opportunities across major shipyards
- Analyze scrapping trends and fleet renewal cycles to forecast service demand windows
- Regulatory & Compliance Intelligence
- Monitor global regulatory developments (IMO, EU, national regulations) and their impact on fleet requirements and compliance spending
- Integrate regulatory drivers (IMO 2030/2050, EU ETS, CII, ballast water management, etc.) with fleet data to identify compliance-driven opportunities
- Collaborate with the regulatory team to transform regulatory challenges into commercial and strategic opportunities
Competitive Analysis
- Conduct competitive Market Intelligence analysis to understand competitor positioning, service offerings, and market share
- Track industry consolidation, M&A activity, and strategic partnerships affecting the competitive landscape
- Analyze pricing trends, service bundling strategies, and commercial models in the inspection/certification market
Sales Enablement & Market Intelligence Delivery
- Support sales teams with targeted opportunity lists, account insights, and data-backed market recommendations
- Develop Market Intelligence customer profiles and market briefings for key accounts
- Create Market Intelligence reports and executive summaries for leadership teams
- Provide ad-hoc market analysis and competitive intelligence to support sales campaigns
- Contribute to the definition of commercial strategy and market development roadmaps
Your strengths to succeed
- Education & Experience
Master's degree in Business, Economics, Data Science, or related field
5+ years in Market Intelligence, competitive analysis, or commercial analytics
Proven experience with maritime or energy Market Intelligence databases (Clarksons, Rystad, Lloyd's List, IHS, or similar)
- Technical Skills
Data visualization expertise (Tableau, Power BI, or equivalent)
Understanding of maritime industry dynamics, shipping economics, and regulatory landscape
Ability to translate market data into strategic insights and actionable recommendations
Excellent communication and presentation skills for diverse audiences
Strong attention to detail and data accuracy standards
