Join a highly skilled and technical teamBecoming part of the Metallic Materials & Coatings (MMC) Section means joining a team of specialized engineers dedicated to technical assessment, supporting our international network, and contributing to the development of Bureau Veritas rules.Within the Technical Directorate, you will help ensure that materials and equipment comply with classification requirements and international standards, while contributing to the management of issues related to corrosion and associated protection systems.

 

Your main responsibilities

Technical assessment

  • Review technical documentation related to metallic materials, welding procedures (WPS), and their qualifications.
  • Verify compliance with Bureau Veritas rules and applicable international standards.
  • Draft structured technical opinions and support approval decisions.

 

Support to the operational network

  • Provide technical guidance to operational teams on material requirements and document analysis.
  • Contribute to resolving technical issues related to newbuilding projects, repair activities, or metallurgical product manufacturing at suppliers’ facilities.

 

Technical development and contribution to rules

  • Take part in technical and regulatory monitoring in the fields of materials and joining processes.
  • Contribute to the development of BV rules, internal guidance documents, and feedback consolidation.
  • Participate, when required, in internal technical initiatives or relevant IACS working groups.

 

Skills development and progression

  • Progressively develop broad expertise across various technical fields depending on the section’s needs.
  • Benefit from structured support to strengthen your knowledge of a wide range of material-related topics and joining technologies.

 

Your assets for success

  • Education & experience: You hold an engineering degree with a specialization in materials science, metallurgy, or a related field. You may be a recent graduate or have an initial professional experience. A solid understanding of material behavior and an interest in joining processes will be appreciated.
  • Personal qualities: Rigor, analytical thinking, synthesis skills, strong writing abilities, and effective communication are essential for this role.
  • Language skills: Proficiency in English (spoken and written) is required to work in an international environment and collaborate with teams and partners worldwide.
