We are looking for an Offshore Structural Engineer to join our headquarters located in La Défense (92), France.
Be part of a dynamic team: Within the Design Review Department of the Technical Directorate, you will join the Hull Section, working alongside engineers specialized in the structural design review of non-cargo ships (such as passenger vessels and naval ships) as well as onboard equipment (e.g., wind-assisted propulsion systems).
You will carry out structural verification calculations using our internal software tools (VeriSTAR-Hull, MARS, STEEL…) as well as external solutions (Femap).
Your main missions:
- Analyze and validate the structural design of vessels and associated equipment in accordance with Bureau Veritas rules (or any other applicable regulations) across different contexts: newbuildings, conversions/modifications, or validation of innovative technologies.
- Technical support: Provide assistance to teams managing vessels in service, particularly regarding damage analysis on ships classed by Bureau Veritas.
- Support to our international network: Deliver guidance and training to our plan approval offices worldwide.
- Contribution to rules and tools: Take part in the development and validation of Bureau Veritas rules and software tools.
- Technical mentoring: Depending on your background and experience, contribute to the technical supervision of the team.
Your strengths for success:
- Education & experience: Degree in Naval Architecture or Structural Engineering, with solid knowledge of strength of materials and finite element analysis. A proven track record in shipbuilding or steel construction is a plus.
- Language skills: Proficiency in English, both written and spoken, to effectively communicate with clients, colleagues, and our international network.
- Personal qualities: Rigorous, team-oriented, autonomous, with strong analytical and synthesis skills. You know how to build trust with your stakeholders.
- Additional skills: Proficiency with IT tools, strong writing and communication abilities.
