Join a dynamic team: Based at the Bureau Veritas Marine & Offshore Head Office in Paris La Défense, you will work closely with technical experts, institutional stakeholders and international field teams, in a stimulating environment combining regulatory expertise, cross-functional coordination and operational challenges.
You will join a team responsible for institutional and regulatory relations, classification rules, procedures and instructions applicable to ships in service, as well as internal statutory certification processes, in compliance with the instruments of the International Maritime Organization (IMO).
Within this highly regulated and international environment, you will play a key support role for Head Office and the worldwide network of surveyors, ensuring effective responses to regulatory requirements and client needs, particularly in the field of inland navigation.
Your main responsibilities:
As Statutory Manager – Inland Navigation, your key responsibilities will include:
- Acting as the Bureau Veritas Head Office point of contact with Administrations on regulatory and statutory policy topics
- Representing Bureau Veritas within various regional and national committees (ADN-Safety Committee (UNECE-Geneva); CESNI/PT (CCNR-Strasbourg); RV/G(CCNR-Strasbourg); GERC; IWG-ADN Recommended Classification Societies; Commission de visite du Luxembourg, etc…)
- Developing and maintaining the associated internal statutory procedures and instructions for inland navigation
- Liaising with the IT Department for the development and updating of checklists for ships in service surveys for inland navigation (ESTRIN and ADN)
- Contributing to the development and delivery of internal training sessions dedicated to inland navigation
- Supporting the worldwide network of surveyors on statutory interpretations
- Publishing statutory news intended for our clients with respect to inland navigation legislation.
Your strengths to succeed:
- Graduate engineer or equivalent qualification (Master’s degree level)
- Good knowledge of classification processes and the statutory regulatory framework, particularly inland navigation legislation
- Strong analytical skills, rigor and excellent writing abilities
- Enjoys teamwork while demonstrating autonomy and a strong sense of responsibility
- Fluent English, both written and spoken, essential in an international environment
