By joining the Strategy – Sustainability & Advanced Services Department, you will actively contribute to steering and promoting maritime projects related to energy transition and the sustainable development of maritime transport.

Reporting to the team manager, you will work on high-impact strategic topics at the heart of the environmental, regulatory, and technological challenges facing the maritime sector.

Join Bureau Veritas Marine & Offshore as a Sustainability Project Manager, based in La Défense (Paris area), with an alternative location possible in Saint-Herblain (near Nantes).

 

Join a dynamic and international team: You will join a recognized, committed, and expert team, working closely with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders.

Your transversal role will allow you to contribute to structuring Bureau Veritas’ sustainability initiatives and to actively participate in forward-looking reflections shaping the future of the maritime industry.

 

Your main responsibilities:

In this role, you will be responsible in particular for:

  • Contributing to the preparation and drafting of in-depth studies, such as:
  • regulatory impact assessments,
  • strategic analyses on alternative fuels,
  • Verification of maritime emissions/environmental footprints
  • Technological feasibility studies
  • Supporting the development of public-facing reports (White Papers, Technology Reports) on topics like sustainable shipping, new marine fuels, operational efficiency, and decarbonization technologies.
  • Coordinating initiatives for Bureau Veritas’ "Future Shipping Team", including working groups on decarbonization levers (e.g., new fuels, vessel performance optimization).
  • Leading ongoing monitoring of sustainability trends, maritime sector evolution, and emerging decarbonization technologies.

 

Your strengths to succeed:

  • Education and experience: You hold an engineering degree and have at least 1 year of experience in sustainable development applied to the transport sector. Topics related to decarbonization, energy transition, and climate change are core elements of your expertise.
  • Technical and sector knowledge: An interest in the analysis and development of regulations and standards, particularly within the maritime sector, is a strong asset.
  • Personal skills: You are recognized for: your listening skills, flexibility, and ability to build consensus, your capacity to propose pragmatic and operational solutions, your strong communication, synthesis, and writing skills, your initiative and ability to work collaboratively in an international environment.
  • Languages and mobility: You are fluent in English, both written and spoken, and willing to travel in France and internationally.
