PCN / CSWIP Level II Multi-NDT Technician

Job Purpose 

To perform Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) inspections in accordance with approved procedures, international standards, project specifications, and client requirements, ensuring the integrity and quality of materials, welds, and equipment used in oil & gas and petrochemical facilities. 

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform NDT inspections using the following methods:
  • Ultrasonic Testing (UT)
  • Magnetic Particle Testing (MT)
  • Liquid Penetrant Testing (PT)
  • Interpret and evaluate inspection results in accordance with applicable codes, standards, and acceptance criteria.
  • Prepare and maintain accurate inspection reports, test records, and supporting documentation.
  • Ensure all NDT activities are carried out in compliance with project specifications, quality procedures, and safety requirements.
  • Identify and report defects, discontinuities, and non-conformances to supervisors and clients.
  • Verify calibration and serviceability of NDT equipment before use.
  • Coordinate with QA/QC personnel, supervisors, and client representatives during inspection activities.
  • Maintain proper housekeeping and care of NDT equipment and consumables.
  • Adhere to company HSE policies and client safety requirements at all times.
  • Participate in audits, quality inspections, and project meetings when required. 

Minimum Qualifications

  • Higher Secondary School Certificate (HSSC) or Diploma in Engineering from a recognized institution.
  • Valid PCN or CSWIP Level II certification in: -
  • Ultrasonic Testing (UT)
  • Magnetic Particle Testing (MT)
  • Penetrant Testing (PT) 

Experience Requirements

  • Minimum 3 years of relevant NDT inspection experience after obtaining NDT Level II certification
  • Experience in oil & gas, petrochemical, refinery, shutdown, turnaround, fabrication, or construction projects.
  • Familiarity with international codes and standards such as ASME, ASTM, API, and ISO standards is preferred. 

Skills & Competencies

  • Good understanding of welding processes and weld inspection requirements.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, P&IDs, isometrics, and inspection procedures.
  • Strong reporting and documentation skills.
  • Good communication and teamwork abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and under site conditions.
  • Knowledge of HSE regulations and safe work practices. 

Preferred Requirements

  • Additional NDT certifications (RT, PAUT, TOFD, VT, etc.) will be an added advantage.
  • Previous experience in Gulf countries and major oil & gas projects is preferred.
  • Valid offshore certification and client approvals, where applicable, are desirable.
