Calibration Manager

- To oversee, manage and lead effective calibration and inspection activities as per Company and customer requirements whilst ensuring compliance with established procedures, standards, and guidelines
- Responsible for managing the departmental budget and analyzing budget vs spend to identify variances and take remedial action
- Responsible for the development and implementation of C&M policies, standards, processes, and procedures
- Plan, schedule and conduct preventive maintenance programmes for all equipment and tools as per international standards, manufacturer standards and Company procedures
- Liaise with the Sales department in the preparation and submission of quotations, bids and tenders and provide technical advice as and when required
- Record and review calibration results and produce reports describing procedures/methodology used and present results in an appropriate/required manner
- Lead discussions and negotiations with suppliers / vendors for C&M related purchase requirements to secure the most cost-effective deal for the Company
- Conduct technical evaluation for all C&M related purchases to ensure equipment meets technical specifications / operational requirements
- Conduct investigations and analyse complex/recurring problems related to equipment to identify gaps and recommend suitable solutions and/or perform remedial services
- Provide oversight and support for site preparation requirements for equipment including the provision of safety requirements
- Manage spares and consumables inventory ensuring stocks are replenished in a timely manner to meet operational requirements
- Oversee equipment installations by vendors and ensure installation adheres with Company/technical requirements
- Manage resource requirements ensuring resources are planned and scheduled appropriately to meet operational requirements
- Conduct stockpile surveys and generate reports as per customer requirements (where applicable)
- Ensure compliance with all relevant (internal and external) regulations including QHSSE requirements using company policies and procedures as appropriate
- Coach, lead and manage the performance of team members by helping them overcome professional challenges in order to accomplish their responsibilities in an accurate and efficient manner
- Set and agree individual goals for all direct reports and evaluate individual performance providing regular feedback and coaching in line with the company’s people management practices
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a relevant field (Instrumentation Engineering is preferred)
- Minimum of 7 (seven) years’ experience in calibration and metering of which a minimum of 2 (two) years must be in a supervisory role
