Dimensional Control Surveyor

Position:

Dimensional Control Surveyor

Responsible to ensure that dimension control (DC) and related activities are performed safely, effectively, and efficiently, in compliance with applicable technical requirements, company standards, policies, and procedures, while contributing to the continuous improvement of dimension control management across the project.

Specialty:

Dimensional Control Surveyor for 50Hz projects, site inspections and reporting

Education:

University degree or technical qualification in Engineering Surveying, Geomatics, Surveying, Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering discipline.

Technical Knowledge:

• Competency in creation and checking of technical documentation related to the discipline.
• Competency in survey data processing, evaluation of measurement results and preparation of dimensional control reports.

Experience:

• Experience on offshore wind, HVDC converter platforms, offshore substations or comparable offshore structures.
• Experience as Dimensional Control Surveyor on major steel fabrication, offshore structures, shipyard or heavy engineering projects over a longer period (minimum 5 years favorable).
• Experience in dimensional inspection of large steel structures, blocks, modules and outfitting interfaces.
• Experience in the use of precision survey equipment such as total stations, laser trackers, theodolites or equivalent measurement systems.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Perform dimensional inspections of panels, LSF / grillage, structures, blocks, modules, and assemblies to verify compliance with approved drawings, specifications, and tolerance requirements.
• Verify the alignment, flatness, plumbness, and levelness of structural components throughout fabrication and erection activities.
• Conduct as-built dimensional surveys utilizing total stations, laser trackers, theodolites, and other precision measurement equipment.
• Ensure dimensional control instruments and survey equipment are properly calibrated, maintained, and used in accordance with established procedures.
• Inspect outfitting components, including foundations, supports, penetrations, and interfaces, to confirm dimensional accuracy prior to installation.
• Prepare comprehensive dimensional control and inspection reports, documenting deviations, non-conformities, and recommended corrective actions.
• Communicate dimensional discrepancies promptly to Production, Engineering, Quality Control, and Project teams to facilitate timely resolution.
• Coordinate closely with Engineering, Work Package Managers, Fabrication, and Welding teams to resolve dimensional and interface-related issues.
• Identify equipment deficiencies or calibration concerns and coordinate maintenance, repair, or recalibration activities as required.
• Verify that fabrication and installation activities are executed in accordance with approved Method Statements, MTPs / ITPs, Quality Control Plans (QCPs), and Dimension Control Procedures.
• Support the management and resolution of dimensional nonconformities, ensuring corrective and preventive actions are effectively implemented.
• Maintain accurate inspection records and measurement data to support project quality documentation and certification requirements.
• Comply with shipyard health, safety, and environmental requirements, ensuring the safe execution of all dimensional inspection and survey activities.
• Promote continuous improvement initiatives and best practices within project dimension control processes.
