Minimum Requirements:
- LLB or LLM in Law
- Minimum 5 years of relevant post-qualification experience in international legal departments
- Excellent interpersonal skills enabling you to evolve in an international and challenging environment;
- Ability to handle several tasks with pragmatism and reactivity.
- Strong team spirit and ability to collaborate cross-functionally.
- Fluent in English and Arabic and know how to negotiate and draft contracts in both languages
Responsibilities
Legal Function
- Handle all legal affairs and manage legal risks within the Region, with a strong focus on reviewing proposals, offers, and contracts.
- Handle corporate matters for all Bureau Veritas legal entities within the area.
- Provide legal support for Mergers & Acquisitions and Joint Ventures.
- Handle litigation matters with the support of external lawyers when required and management of insurances matters in coordination with the Group Risk and Insurance Department
- Assist with debt collection matters
Compliance Function
- Coordinate with group compliance teams to align compliance objectives, processes, and goals, ensuring consistent practices across the organization
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of compliance activities, audits, and investigations
- Provide training and guidance to staff on compliance-related matters, promoting a culture of integrity, compliance, and transparency throughout the organization
- Ensure adherence to applicable laws and regulations, including privacy laws, international sanctions, and export control rules.
