- He is expected to establish direct contact with Client and whenever necessary with other Bureau Veritas organization.
2. Minimum Required Qualifications
2.1. Specialty
Sound knowledge in Electrical/Instrument Engineering Related Activities
2.2. Education
Degree / Diploma in Electrical/Instrumentation Engineering
2.3. Training
Site Safety Induction
Specific Technical Induction for Specific Projects if Required
2.4. Technical knowledge
Strong knowledge of the International Codes & Standards
Experience with Electrical/Instrumentation Inspection according to relevant Codes
Application of Codes and standards, project specifications and procedures.
2.5. Experience
Inspector/Technician : Minimum 5 years experience in similar field
Engineer Surveyor : Minimum 8 years experience in similar field
Senior Engineer Surveyor : Minimum 10 years experience in similar field
3. Responsibilities / Authorities / Accountabilities
3.1. Primary Functions
- Review of applicable Inspection Test Plans, Quality Plan and Procedures.
- Review and validation of inspection assignment documentation (technical aspects, reference documentation, schedule, milestones, reporting, logistics, co-ordination procedure, etc.)
- Definition of Bureau Veritas interventions
- Selection of the most appropriate inspection techniques
- Execution of inspection according to pre-defined Quality Plan, and to the established inspection procedures / techniques
- Execution of inspection reporting including treatment of Non-conformities (NCR’s) and other applicable deliverables
- Ensuring quality of inspection according to BV Quality System
- Interpretation of results of inspections
- Treatment of Non-conformities / corrective actions
- Review and appraisal of inspection procedures
- Maintaining internal communication
- Promotes Bureau Veritas service portfolio to clients
- Respects security guidelines of Bureau Veritas and safeguards personal security in the working environment
- Actively participates in the sharing of knowledge and information (Knowledge Management)
- Monitor Electrical/Instrumentation Activities as per approved procedures and relevant Codes / Standards.
- Inspection of Electrical/Instrumentation Activities according to relevant Codes
- Prepare inspection reports on time and submit to Team Leader
3.2. Technical Expertise
- Application of codes and standards, project specifications and procedures
- Within his field of competency, the inspector is expected to conduct the activities stated in Primary functions.
- Fully conversant with relevant inspection techniques and able to select the most appropriate inspection technique.
- Able to verify and approve Non-conformities / corrective actions
- Able to identify required Bureau Veritas interventions, based on a pre-defined Quality Plan and according to specified standards.
- Able to review / appraise inspection procedures
3.3. Business Requirements
- Report to Team leader about day-to-day inspection, non-compliance /discrepancy to specification.

- Maintains a high degree of expertise through permanent specialized training and knowledge management.
- Ensure that inspection is carried out as per approved drawings / Inspection test plans.
- Meet project development objectives
- Should be Results oriented, Service driven and Problem solving
- Comply with company regulations, procedures and Code of Ethics.
3.5. Customer Focus
- Ensure that Inspection is carried out as per Inspection test plans and other applicable Technical specifications.
- Understand client needs and work to achieve successful project outcomes.
- Develop trust and open communication with the client.
3.6. HSE Requirements
- Comply at all times with all applicable legal requirements, BV HSE Policies and procedures, client’s HSE procedures and code of practices.
- Maintain personal work areas tidy and hazard free and report any deviation/fault/hazard immediately to the location manager/line manager/supervisor
- Report immediately any newly identified hazard and participate in devising suitable operational control to eliminate/minimize the pertinent risk.
- Report immediately any HSE incident and cooperate in investigation
- Use appropriate PPE at work area and be aware of:
o the risks appropriate PPE will control or minimize
o Report immediately incase the PPE is worn off or lost.
- Communicate to their immediate manager any unsafe work practice or condition and opportunities for improvement of HSE practices.
- Take care of your own health and safety and that of people who may be affected by what you do (or do not do). ·
- Co-operate with others on health and safety, and not interfere with, or misuse, anything provided for your health, safety or welfare.
