Role Purpose Statement:

 

In this position the person is responsible for maintaining and continuously improving the QHSE system in Southern Middle East Region. He/she performs the job in the framework of the BV Quality Assurance Systems, the Code of Ethics and the appropriate Group policies in the region.

RESPONSIBILITIES, AUTHORITIES & ACCOUNTABILITIES

 

For the quality management system, his/her responsibilities & authorities includes :

 

  • Maintain and improve the Quality System in BV SME Region.
  • Ensure that processes and procedures needed for the applicable management system (ISO/IEC 17065, ISO/IEC 17020, ISO 9001…….) are established, implemented and maintained.
  • Reporting to BV top management on the performance of the management system and any need for improvement, as applicable.
  • Ensure business processes are accessed, understood and complied within BV SME region
  • Arrange/conduct internal audits against applicable accreditation and certification standards.
  • Analyze objectives of Departments as per set HSE policies and procedures.
  • Ensure that appropriate monitoring is being done in SME region.
  • Responsible for staff training on quality, applicable accreditation and certification standards.
  • Ensure effective implementation & follow up of customer surveys.
  • Manage & follow up customer complaints received in SME Region.
  • Implement preventive & corrective actions and ensure appropriate follow up.
  • Inform Dubai staff about BV knowledge management tools & other follow up tools, as applicable.
  • Follow up of non-conformities / corrective & preventive actions for SME Region.

 

 

For the HSE management system, his/her responsibilities & authorities includes:

 

  • Ensure HSE induction training is given to all employees including new entrants.
  • Maintain and improve HSE system in SME Region.
  • Ensure that processes and procedures needed for the applicable management system (ISO 14001, ISO 45001…..) are established, implemented and maintained.
  • Reporting to BV Dubai top management/MER management on the performance of the management system and any need for improvement, as applicable.
  • Coordinate with all concerned for HSE matters of SME Region.
  • Follow up and/or conduct awareness training for HSE related topics, as applicable.
  • Comply at all times with all applicable legal requirements, BV HSE Policies/guidelines, Manual and procedures, client’s HSE procedures and code of practices.
  • Maintain personal work areas tidy and hazard free and report any deviation/fault/hazard immediately to the location manager/line manager/supervisor.
  • Report immediately any newly identified hazard and participate in devising suitable operational control to eliminate/minimize the pertinent risk.
  • Report immediately any HSE incident and cooperate in investigation.

 

  • Authorized to stop work if condition, situation, environment…etc is not safe to perform the activity (immediately inform to reporting person (N+1) in the department for further guidance, if this authority is used).
  • Accountable to take care of your own health and safety and that of people who may be affected by what you do or do not do.
  • Accountable for co-operating with others on health and safety, and not interfere with, or misuse, anything provided for your health, safety or welfare.
  • Providing safety guidance, if employee/inspector faces any safety issues.
  • To ensure that any personal protective equipment, (PPE) that employees are required to use in their job:
      • have been provided to them, as required
      • have been appropriately assessed before use
      • is fit for purpose
      • provides adequate protection
      • is appropriately maintained and inspected.
  • Promote the identification of opportunities to improve the health & safety of employees during their work activities.
  • Promote the identification of initiatives to improve employee environmental awareness and reduction of environmental impacts.
  • Carry out regular tours of the work areas to monitor general health, safety and welfare arrangements.

 

 

 

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

 

  • Customer oriented and focused in satisfaction
  • Experience in organisation and methods
  • Trained as auditor – ISO 9001
  • Good Knowledge of ISO 17020, ISO 17065, applicable HSE standards
  • The ability to think forward identifying consequences
  • Good management aptitude (communication, leadership)
  • Fluent in English
  • Presentation skills & excellent PC skills
