Cylinder Room Labourer/Shipper
Location: Edmonton, Alberta 

 

Job Overview and Responsibilities:

Support function for the cylinder room, and shipping.

Primary responsibilities include the following (but are not limited to):

 

  • Cleaning and preparing pressure cylinders (sample vessels) to collect oil & gas samples.
  • Perform cleaning of pressure cylinders (oil samples by solvent recirculation, gas samples by steam and dry air) followed by vacuuming and preparation for cylinder re-use.
  • Prepare the boxes of sample cylinders by strapping, labelling and arranging them for client pick up or shipping.
  • Prepare and verify the shipping forms and way bills for all shipments of the day.
  • Able to lift 50 lbs.
  • Ability to use computers, Microsoft 365 and communicate by email in English.
  • Inspect and maintain cylinder room tools and equipment on a regular basis.
  • Maintain proper inventory of supplies, parts, accessories and other consumables associated with shipping.
  • Maintain open communication within department to effectively identify client needs.
  • Professionally interact face-to-face, over phone or by email with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Perform daily workload as prioritized by supervisor to accommodate daily rushes.
  • Provide support as required to other areas of Technical Services Group.
  • Update parts inventory and order parts.

 

Is there a mutual fit? You ideally have:

  • Education: High School Diploma or higher.
  • Technical skills (handy with tools for cylinder repairs and testing). and preferably some shipping experience.
  • Safety awareness and follow company safety protocols.
  • Communicating by emails, knowledge of excel, and intensive use of computers.
  • Previous experience with forklift or scissor lift is an asset
  • Good time-management, multi-tasking and priority setting skills
  • Positive outlook with an ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
  • Detail oriented and solid record keeping skills

Experience:

  • Minimum Education: High School Diploma
  • 3 year of experience in related field (Asset)  

 

Schedule:

  • Monday to Friday
  • Willing to work overtime when necessary (including some weekends)
