About the Role

Bureau Veritas is seeking a Laboratory Manager to lead day-to-day laboratory operations while supporting continued growth, efficiency, and high-quality data production. This role plays a key part in managing people, processes, and resources to ensure samples are delivered safely, accurately, and on time.

What You’ll Do

• Lead, coach, and develop laboratory staff, including recruitment, performance management, training, and career development

• Plan and manage departmental resources, including staffing, equipment, forecasting, budgeting, and capital expenditure recommendations

• Drive operational efficiency by assessing and implementing new processes and continuous improvement initiatives (including Kaizen projects)

• Ensure the production of high-quality, defensible analytical data that meets regulatory and client requirements

• Monitor turnaround times and prioritize workloads to meet deadlines and customer expectations

• Oversee laboratory equipment maintenance, calibration, troubleshooting, and process optimization

• Develop strategic and business plans to support departmental growth and increase Bureau Veritas’ market presence

• Act as a technical resource for management, customer service, and laboratory staff

• Foster a positive, engaged, and safe work environment

• Ensure compliance with Bureau Veritas policies, SOPs, quality systems, and health & safety programs

• Lead and participate in safety initiatives, audits, inspections, PPE audits, and hazard assessments

• Collaborate closely with internal departments and external vendors

• Perform other duties as assigned

What You Bring

• B.Sc., technical diploma, or equivalent combination of education and experience

• 7–8 years of experience in a laboratory environment, including at least 2 years in a leadership role

• Demonstrated success in a Laboratory Supervisor or similar role

• Strong knowledge of laboratory processes, automation, and analytical instrumentation

• Solid understanding of Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS)

• Strong leadership, coaching, and team-building skills

• Excellent organizational, time-management, and communication skills

• Strong attention to detail and accurate record-keeping

• Ability to work independently and collaboratively

• Adaptable, quick learner with a positive attitude

• Fast-paced laboratory environment with high production demands

• Flexible working hours, including overtime, evenings, and weekends as required

• Physical work including standing for extended periods and lifting up to 40 lbs

• Handling of hazardous materials using established safety procedures and appropriate PPE
