Electrical Engineer

Bureau Veritas Iraq is looking to hire an Electrical Engineer based in Erbil for an on-site position.

Required Skills and Qualifications: 

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in electrical engineering.
• Minimum 7 years of experience in construction or infrastructure projects.
• Knowledge of electrical design software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit, ETAP, Dialux).
• Familiarity with international electrical codes and standards (e.g., IEC, NEC, BS).
• Strong understanding of construction processes, materials, and project management principles.
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work on-site under varied conditions.
• Identify and resolve any technical issues that arise during construction.
• Ensure all work complies with local codes, regulations, and project specifications.
• Prepare, review and validate layout and quantities of electrical components of the proposed works.
• Review and approval of detailed engineering specifications, drawings, shop drawings submitted by EPC.
• Provide daily site supervision during the mechanical construction works and completion of works, running in of the electrical equipment, performance tests (including Extra Low Voltage Systems),
• Approval of order lists, material approvals, clarification to Employer for Equipment Efficiencies.
• Technical Bid Evaluation for procurement of electrical equipment and materials.
• Preparation of Electrical Work Site Supervision manuals and QA/QC inspection forms and assistance to the work EPC for preparation of method statements and selection of instrument, materials and Electrical equipment.
