JOB SUMMARY:

 

• Answer incoming calls from Clients, Contractors, Team staff and others requesting inspections to be scheduled

• Schedule inspections received by phone and/or emails.

• Setup new projects in our internal system

• Intake of permit applications, plans and all required/supporting documentation for new projects in the City of Fort Worth division; commercial and residential

• Track/input/log all incoming projects for disbursement/review to Plan Review Team

• Apply for residential/commercial building permits within the CFW Accela system

• Provide support to the field inspectors coordinating inspections

• Provide support to the Special Projects Coordinator and Plan Review Team for the City of Fort Worth division

• Track and maintain permit status/expiration for all building permits; commercial and residential

• This job requires spending 6-8 hours a day answering phones, intake of project documentation and scheduling inspections

• Communicate with City of Fort Worth concerning permit application, inspections or other problem-solving issues.

  • Must be a self-starter, able to work within a group and individually
  • And other duties as assigned

Preferred Skills and Qualifications:

  • Requires clerical and technical support duties within the scheduling division in the Fort Worth Office for City of Fort Worth duties
  • Must possess strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Must be well organized
  • Must have excellent typing, data entry, and clerical skills.
  • Must be computer savvy. Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and working with different software and databases.

Required Education, Education, and Certifications:

  • High School Diploma/ Associates Degree (preferred) 
  • 2-5 years of experience as a certified permit technician;
    • Or, equivalent combination of education and experience
