The Role
Bureau Veritas is currently seeking an experienced Texas Registered Sanitarian - Health Inspector to join our team in the North Houston area. As a Registered Sanitarian, you will perform critical inspections of retail food establishments, temporary events, and public swimming pools throughout the DFW and surrounding North Texas region. Your work will directly contribute to protecting public health and ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.

What You'll Do
Conduct Environmental Health Inspections: Perform comprehensive inspections of retail food establishments, temporary food events, and public swimming pools to ensure compliance with city and state health codes and regulations
Enforce Public Health Regulations: Verify that facilities, practices, and operations meet all requirements of public health statutes and local ordinances
Investigate Health Complaints: Respond to and investigate public health complaints related to environmental and sanitary conditions
Prepare Detailed Documentation: Document inspection findings, violations, and corrective actions in thorough written reports
Educate Facility Operators: Provide guidance and education to facility managers and operators on health and safety requirements, proper food handling, waste disposal, and compliance measures
Program Development: Contribute to the evaluation and implementation of public health protection programs
Field Travel: Utilize a personal vehicle to travel throughout the DFW and surrounding North Texas cities to perform inspections
Flexible Scheduling: Work occasional weekends and be prepared for occasional travel outside the DFW area as needed

What You'll Bring
Required Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with at least 30 semester hours in basic or applied sciences
Licensing: Active Texas Registered Sanitarian (RS) or Registered Environmental Health Specialist (REHS) license
Driver's License: Valid Texas driver's license with reliable personal vehicle for field inspections
Experience: 3-5 years of environmental health inspection experience preferred

Preferred Qualifications:
Certified Pool Operator (CPO) certification
Prior experience conducting food service establishment inspections
Knowledge of Texas health and safety regulations
Strong communication and public education skills
