Talent Acquisition Specialist
The Talent Acquisition Specialist is a recruiting professional who utilizes recruitment methods to identify and recruit top performing candidates for open positions across any business line. They consistently delight candidates and managers through world class customer service and responsiveness. The Talent Acquisition Specialist can staff projects and hunt for niche roles simultaneously. They gain a deep understanding of the businesses they support, including work environment, current and projected hiring needs, and position specifications to devise the most effective short- and long-term source strategies. This is a hybrid role based in Houston, TX, requiring in-office presence 3 days per week. Candidates must be located in the Houston area or willing to relocate.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Serve as a trusted advisor to hiring managers, consulting on the full lifecycle recruiting process—from intake through offer—while guiding effective requisition development and structured, bias-aware interview practices.
- Partner closely with hiring managers to define role requirements, align on talent strategy, and translate business needs into compelling, market-ready job descriptions optimized for internet job postings and targeted niche platforms.
- Design and execute proactive sourcing strategies to attract high-caliber, diverse talent using a mix of job postings, internet and database mining, social media, internal talent pools, employee referrals, networking, cold outreach, competitor research, and career events.
- Research, evaluate, and implement innovative diversity recruiting tools and resources to continuously strengthen inclusive hiring outcomes.
- Build and maintain a robust, high-quality talent pipeline to meet current and future hiring demands under tight timelines.
- Develop deep knowledge of assigned business units to anticipate workforce needs and deliver tailored recruiting solutions.
- Lead intake and recruitment strategy meetings with hiring managers, providing regular progress updates and recalibrating search strategies.
- Continuously monitor applicant pipelines, assess effectiveness of sourcing methods, and pivot strategies as needed to ensure strong candidate flow.
- Conduct comprehensive candidate screenings to assess qualifications, interest level, availability, compensation expectations, work authorization/visa status, relocation needs, and overall alignment with role requirements.
- Evaluate candidates holistically, considering experience, education, skills, training, cultural alignment, and long-term potential within the organization.
- Deliver a positive, engaging candidate experience by acting as a consistent single point of contact throughout the interview and hiring process.
- Coordinate and facilitate interviews, manage stakeholder communications, and support offer development and salary negotiations.
- Maintain accurate, timely documentation in the applicant tracking system and ensure data integrity throughout the recruiting process.
- Ensure compliance with internal procedures, labor agreements, and all applicable state and federal employment laws.
- Generate recruiting metrics and hiring activity reports to support business decision-making and workforce planning.
- Quickly develop working knowledge of HR policies and procedures.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

Education, Certification & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, or related field
- 2-5 years’ experience in talent acquisition/recruitment
- Proven record of successful hiring
- Knowledge of labor market trends
- Human Resources certifications, preferred (PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, or SHRM-SCP)
