Hours Worked: 12-hour rotating day/night shift (2-2-3), working every other weekend.
However, must be flexible to meet the needs of the department and complete other projects as assigned.

Position Summary:
The Analytical Chemist performs complex laboratory testing to identify, quantify, and analyze the chemical components of samples, ensuring safety, quality, and regulatory compliance. This role is located in a manufacturing setting, testing samples for consumer packaged goods.

Duties include Batch Record Review and gathering/reviewing documents for product release, managing Quality documentation, digitizing paper batch records and completing plant-wide quality reviews using two different client LIMS systems.


Duties and Responsibilities:

•    Perform various sample preparation, extraction, and analysis techniques utilizing analytical methods. 
•    Perform serial dilutions to create standards and quality control samples following a written method. 
•    Perform identification, gravimetric, qualitative, and physical testing on a routine basis. 
•    Execute titration testing, chromatography (GC and/ or HPLC) and atomic absorption (AA). 
•    Utilize basic instrumentation to perform testing on a routine basis. 
•    Meet all testing assignment deadlines and document all analysis in a timely and accurate manner. 
•    Perform method validations and verifications. 
•    Complete DIR/OOS/CAPA documentation. 
•    Assess SOPs and methods, recommend and initiate changes as needed. 
•    Support audit activities. 
•    Perform routine lab maintenance, maintaining a clean and safe laboratory space. 
•    Handle other essential tasks and responsibilities as assigned.

Education and Experience:
•    Bachelor's Degree in Chemistry or related scientific discipline
•    0-1 years of experience working with GC, HPLC or Atomic Absorption (AA) preferred. 
•    Experience in an FDA or cGMP regulated environment preferred. 

An equivalent combination of education and experience may be accepted in lieu of above


Compensation Range:
$21-$24 an hour (e.g., the job posting is not necessarily reflective of actual compensation that may be earned, and actual compensation is subject to variation due to such factors as locations, education, experience, and skillset).
