Structural Project Engineer

We’re seeking a Structural Project Engineer to join our interdisciplinary Architecture & Engineering practice, where you’ll take on projects ranging from new construction to retrofit and renovation of existing infrastructure.
This is a growth-oriented opportunity for a driven engineer who thrives on solving complex structural challenges and wants to play a lead role in delivering high-impact projects.
What You’ll Do
-
Lead the design of structural systems for buildings, bridges, and other infrastructure, with an emphasis on seismic engineering.

Prepare models, drawings, calculations, and technical reports using tools such as AutoCAD, Revit, RISA, and SAP2000.

Evaluate materials and recommend cost-effective solutions to ensure safety and durability.

Conduct field visits, provide construction support, and collaborate closely with contractors and multidisciplinary project teams.

Mentor and guide junior engineers and CAD/BIM specialists while contributing to team-wide technical excellence.

Stay current with evolving codes, standards, and materials to bring innovative solutions to clients.

Represent Bureau Veritas in client meetings, presentations, and industry engagements.
What We’re Looking For
-
Education: Master’s in Structural Engineering preferred; Bachelor’s in Civil/Structural Engineering required.

Experience: Minimum of 5+ years of professional structural/seismic engineering experience.

Licensing: California PE required; Structural Engineer (SE) license preferred or active pursuit of SE licensure.

Technical Expertise:
-
Proficient in reinforced/post-tensioned concrete, steel, masonry, shotcrete, light gauge steel, and wood design.

Skilled in analysis and design software including RISA, SAP2000, ETABS, SAFE, RAM, Staad Pro, ADAPT, EnerCalc, and more.

Knowledge of industry codes and standards (AASHTO, ACI, AISC, IBC, ASCE 07/41, Caltrans, Metro MRDC, NDS).

Collaboration: Strong communication skills with the ability to engage with clients, present solutions, and foster team growth.

Mindset: Detail-oriented, resourceful, and eager to take ownership of projects while mentoring others.
