Join Bureau Veritas Denmark in an exciting position as a Customer Support Center Surveyor

As we continue to develop our marine activities, we are delighted to offer a unique opportunity to join our organisation as Customer Support Center in our Copenhagen (Denmark) office and build your knowledge along with a team of experts that supports shipping companies with the management of their fleets and operations with regard to rules and regulations.

Welcome to Bureau Veritas!

With one of the world's strongest brands behind you, this is your opportunity to make a difference in a global and sustainable company. Bureau Veritas Marine & Offshore is one of the world’s leading classification societies, pioneering the safety and performance of new technologies since 1828. With 2,650 maritime experts active in 140 countries, we operate as a global network – while meeting our clients’ needs locally through our regional marine operations, customer support, and technical centers. With a classed fleet of over 11,500 seagoing ships, Bureau Veritas is the largest classification society by number of assets. Our client relationships are built on service, transparency, and trust. We are supporting the maritime industry on its journey towards sustainability – notably addressing the two key challenges of decarbonization and digitalization.

Join an industry leader

At Bureau Veritas Marine & Offshore Nordics you will become part of the interesting and highly international maritime community, where opportunities for personal and professional development and growth are provided. Your mission will be to advise our (key) accounts on their most important issues, including the ongoing energy transition to become more sustainable. You answer high priority calls and emails to clarify which actions need to be taken to address technical and operational issues in the context of the regulatory framework, which includes classification rules, international regulations (IMO), national regulations and industry standards.

Your main responsibilities include:

  • Providing ship owners and managers with technical and regulatory support in relation to IMO and Flag State regulations, Bureau Veritas rules and the rules of other IACS class societies and other relevant standards;
  • Maintaining business relationships with Bureau Veritas’ Nordic (key) accounts by providing advice and following up on client requests;
  • Managing contacts with (Nordic) Flag States, including annual meetings with Danish, Swedish and Icelandic administrations;
  • Conducting trouble shooting of customers’ issues in close cooperation with colleagues and experts across teams and countries;
  • Keeping up to date with new rules, regulations and technical or process information relevant to our customers;
  • Participate in meetings (both internal and external) as required.

What will make you successful in Bureau Veritas?

We imagine that you have a degree in Marine Engineering, Naval Architecture, Mechanical Engineering or similar, with a minimum of five years of relevant work experience as a field surveyor in a classification society (IACS member), technical superintendent/vessel manager in a ship management company or certified (chief) engineer or master mariner/navigation (deck) officer at sea.

We are looking for someone who:

  • Has good IT skills;
  • Is proficient in spoken and written English and one or more Scandinavian languages;
  • Holds a valid residence permit for Denmark.

As a person, you are structured, quality driven and solution-oriented, while remaining detail-oriented. You are committed to doing your job well and have a “can-do” attitude. It is important that you can work independently as well as in a team and hence have communication skills to navigate both settings.
