The role:
The person will be responsible for the implementation of effective HSE processes to reduce work related accidents as well as reduce the carbon footprint on the environment and improve the quality of service delivery both at the Bureau Veritas and its client locations as prescribed.
The key responsibilities of the right candidate will include:
- Ensure Compliance: Help contractor comply with local, IFC, OSH and other international standards related to Health and safety regulations.
- Risk Assessment: Identify potential hazards in the workplaces site and assess the risks associated with them.
- Accident Prevention: Develop and implement strategies to prevent workplace accidents and illnesses.
- Safety Culture: Foster a culture of safety within the organization, encouraging proactive behaviors and attitudes towards health and safety
- H&S Policy Development: Assist Contractor in the creation, review, and updating of health and safety policies and procedures.
- Emergency Preparedness: Ensuring that the Contractor has effective response plans in place.
Qualifications & Skills Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in environmental health, Safety, or a related field (preferred).
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in an HSSE-related role, ideally within TIC industry
- Strong knowledge of health, safety, security, and environmental regulations.
- Ability to conduct risk assessments and safety audits.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Certification in safety programs (e.g., NEBOSH, OSHA, or equivalent) is a plus.
