Coating and Insulations Inspector

Job Description

• NACE Coating Inspector and equivalent certified or have comprehensive knowledge and experience of 10 years in coating and insulations inspection both above-ground and underground at refineries or petrochemical plants.
• Shall have thorough knowledge of NACE, SSPC, ISO 12944, and applicable coating and lining standards for industrial and refinery applications.
• Capable of performing inspection of surface preparation activities including blast cleaning and power tool cleaning, verifying compliance with specified cleanliness and surface profile requirements.
• Shall perform inspection of coating and lining application including wet film thickness, dry film thickness (DFT), holiday detection, and adhesion testing.
• Knowledgeable in various types of protective coatings and insulations including, 3LP, epoxy, polyurethane, zinc-rich primers, and internal linings for tanks and vessels.
• Can inspect and verify environmental conditions during coating application including ambient temperature, dew point, relative humidity, and substrate temperature.
• Capable of reviewing and approving coating & insulation procedures, material data sheets, and coating system specifications.
• Shall witness and document coating repairs and touch-up activities in accordance with approved procedures.
• Capable of performing pinhole detection testing using low and high voltage holiday detectors.
• Responsible for complete record keeping and documentation of all coating inspection activities and reports.

Minimum Eligibility Criteria:

• NACE certification or equivalent
• Minimum 10 years of coating/insulation inspection experience
• Strong knowledge of NACE, SSPC, ISO standards
• Experience in surface prep, DFT, holiday testing, and inspection
• Relevant project experience of O&G (project construction, QA/QC & Commissioning) is mandatory
• Candidate must have valid certificates – copy shall be provided along with CV.
