Electrical Inspector for Cabling, Earthing, Heat tracing & Cathodic Protection

Job Description

  • B.E. in Electrical Engineering and IEC certified or have comprehensive knowledge and experience of 10 years in electrical cabling and earthing system inspection at refineries or petrochemical plants.
  • Responsible for inspection of all electrical cabling, earthing systems, heat tracing, and cathodic protection works at refinery/petrochemical facilities, ensuring compliance with applicable IEC, IEEE, and NACE standards, approved drawings, and project specifications.
  • Shall verify installation quality including cable routing, laying, termination, identification, insulation, and testing (IR, continuity, high potential), as well as inspection of earthing systems including earth pits, bonding, and earth resistance testing.
  • Responsible for inspection and verification of heat tracing systems including installation of trace cables, junction boxes, thermostats, and control panels, along with witnessing functional and electrical testing and validating design parameters (watt density, temperature control, insulation compatibility).
  • Shall inspect cathodic protection systems (ICCP & SACP) including anodes, rectifiers, reference cells, and junction boxes, and witness system performance testing such as pipe-to-soil potential and rectifier output measurements.
  • Responsible for ensuring compliance with hazardous area requirements, proper documentation, inspection records, and test reports for all electrical installation activities under assigned scope.

Minimum Eligibility Criteria:

  • B.E Electrical Engineering
  • Minimum 10 years of relevant inspection experience
  • Strong knowledge of cabling, earthing, testing
  • Experience in cathodic protection and heat tracing
  • Relevant project experience of O&G (project construction, QA/QC & Commissioning) is mandatory
  • Candidate must have valid certificates – copy shall be provided along with CV
