1. Position Details

1.1. Position: Sr. Engineer NDT

1.2. Office / Department: Karachi , Pakistan

1.3. Reporting to: Operations Manager

1.4. Key Working Relationship: Operations, Clients

 

2. Minimum Required Qualifications

2.1. Specialty: ECT NDT- L2

2.2. Education: BE / BSC / MSC (Physics)

2.3. Technical knowledge: NDT Level II Certification (ASNT / PCN or equivalent) in:

Ultrasonic Testing (UT)/ Eddy Current Testing (ECT) Magnetic Particle Testing (MT)

2.5. Experience: Minimum 4 years

 

3. Responsibilities / Authorities / Accountabilities

3.1. Primary Functions:

  • Lead and execute day to day BV Pakistan’s NDT service operations (conventional & advanced).
  • Ensure development and approval of NDT procedures and inspection methodologies.
  • Deliver high-quality inspection services in compliance with international standards.
  • Drive operational excellence, project delivery, and client satisfaction.
  • Support business growth by developing new service offerings.

 

3.2. Technical Expertise

  • Act as the responsible Level III authority for all NDT activities in BV Pakistan.
  • UT, ECT, MPI, DPT.
  • Heat exchanger tube inspection and integrity assessment.
  • Codes & standards (ASME, API, ISO 9712, SNT-TC-1A).
  • Develop, review, and approve NDT procedures, techniques, and inspection plans.
  • Ensure compliance with international standards and client requirements.
  • Provide technical support for complex inspections and failure investigations.

 

3.3. Business Requirements

  • Support business development through technical proposals and tenders.
  • Identify opportunities to expand NDT and advanced inspection services.
  • Provide cost estimation, methodology, and execution strategies.
  • Build strong client relationships and act as technical advisor.
  • Support revenue growth and service portfolio expansion.

 

3.4. Self Management

  • Strong technical and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to manage multi-site operations and high-pressure shutdown projects.
  • Results-driven with focus on KPIs and operational efficiency.
  • Effective planning, coordination, and resource management.

 

3.5. Customer Focus

  • Act as a trusted technical advisor to clients on NDT solutions.
  • Ensure timely, compliant, and high-quality service delivery.
  • Develop long-term relationships with key clients.
  • Support client engagement through technical presentations and solutions.

 

3.6. HSE Requirements

  • Comply at all times with all applicable legal requirements, BV HSE Policies, procedures and practices.
  • Maintain personal work areas tidy and hazard free and report any deviation/fault/hazard immediately to the location manager/line manager/HSE Representative
  • Report immediately to HSE Representative any newly identified hazard and participate in devising suitable operational control to eliminate/minimize the pertinent risk.
  • Report immediately to HSE Representative any HSE incident and cooperate in investigation
  • Reporting all incidents and taking action whenever they see an unsafe act or condition
  • Take care of your own health and safety and that of people who may be affected by what you do (or do not do).
  • Co-operate with others on health and safety, and not interfere with, or misuse, anything provided for your health, safety or welfare.

 

4. Performance Monitoring

4.1. Continual Development

  • Develop internal NDT competencies and certification programs.
  • Mentor and train Level I & II inspectors.
  • Promote adoption of advanced NDT technologies.
  • Support innovation and service development within NDT.

 

4.2. KPI’s

  • Revenue growth from NDT services.
  • Expansion of advanced NDT offerings.
  • Project delivery performance (time, quality, compliance).
  • Resource utilization and operational efficiency.
