Reports to (N+1): Metals Laboratory Supervisor
FLSA: Non-Exempt
Hours Worked: Second shift typically 3:00 PM to 11:30 PM, Monday through Friday, forty-hours per week.
However, must be flexible to meet the needs of the department and complete other projects as assigned.
Position Summary:
The Laboratory Analyst I, Metals is responsible for preparing and analyzing a wide variety of client samples for elemental content using analytical chemistry methodology and various spectroscopic instruments.
Duties and Responsibilities:
• Preparing samples, standard reference materials, reagents, and/or solutions.
• Maintaining a clean and well-organized work area.
• Performing and documenting routine maintenance and calibration of instrumentation.
• Documenting/recording raw data and results of analyses.
• Executing analytical procedures in accordance with the appropriate regulations.
• Follow the guidelines set forth with the company Quality, Health, Safety, Security and Environmental policies and procedures.
• Comply with company management systems in accordance with appropriate regulatory agencies.
• Follows the guidelines set forth in the company Quality Manual and Safety / Chemical Hygiene Plan.
• Adhere to the requirements of the company Quality System.
• Other duties as defined by supervisor, department needs and workload.

Education and Experience:
• Degree requirement: Bachelor's Degree in Biochemistry, Chemistry, Biology or closely related field.
• Minimum of one (1) year of experience working in an analytical chemistry laboratory preferred.
• Experience in a GLP/cGMP and ISO regulated environment preferred.
An equivalent combination of education and experience may be accepted in lieu of above.
