We are looking for a Ship systems rules Engineer to join our Head Office based in La Défense

(Paris area) or Saint-Herblain (Nantes area)in France.

 

Join a dynamic team: within Developpement Department, you will join the Ship Systems and Environment Rule Development Team, in charge of developing Classification Rules on machinery, electricity, automation, safety and the environment.

 

 

These technical fields are at the heart of the maritime energy transition, by enabling the integration of new technologies and alternative fuels on board ships (gaseous or low flashpoint fuels, nuclear power, fuel cells, engines, associated systems). You will play a key role in developing our teams' expertise in these new areas.

 

Your main missions:

- Contribute to the maintenance and development of our classification rules for ships and offshore units, focusing on the use of gaseous fuels (LNG, hydrogen, ammonia etc.) and nuclear power on board merchant ships, offshore units and naval vessels.

- Participate in international working groups : IMO, IACS, ISO etc.

- Participate in setting up and carrying out research and development (R&D) projects with industrial and/or academic partners.

- Provide technical regulatory support to our operational teams for commercial projects in these areas.

 

 

Your strengths to succeed:

 

A graduate of an engineering school or with a master’s degree in science, you have a solid theoretical background in naval architecture, industrial risks and/or energy production processes, you enjoy technical subjects and you are interested in regulatory aspects. You have one or two previous experiences in the field of energy production or industrial risks in the conventional or nuclear sector or ideally in the Marine & Offshore sector. You are interested in expanding your knowledge to areas related to your initial expertise.

You are fluent in both spoken and written English, and you are comfortable writing and structuring a technical text in this language.

Your analytical skills, autonomy and interpersonal skills will contribute to your success.

You are mobile for occasional trips abroad.
