Position: Financial Controller (Omani National)
Reporting to: Area Chief Executive (ACE)
Department: Finance
Location: Muscat
Qualification: Master’s/ Bachelor Degree in Finance and Accounting with professional Qualification ACCA or CMA.
Technical knowledge:
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Strong leadership abilities and skills.
- Team Management.
- Good command of English.
- Good communication and presentation skills.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel, Data Analysis
Experience: Min. 7-10 years’ experience in accounting and reporting. Preferably with experience in multinational companies.
Primary Functions:
Financial / Management Accounting
- Ensure that all accounting principles are followed (MAG / IFRS)
- Ensure all the local - country regulations are complied
- Ensure timely reporting and respect the deadlines of various reports / procedure to be followed as when required by Head office
- Scrutinize all financial ratios, MIS reports, statistical data on monthly basis
- Ensure all the internal controls / procedures are applied and followed and reporting thereof
- Monitor cost and control it within budgetary boundaries
- Role in negotiation of commercial deals with clients
- Ensure necessary Tax compliance – VAT returns and Corporate Tax Returns
- Responsible for Internal and External Audits.
Month / Year end closing
- Ensure that the BL provide all invoices to finance by 25th of the month. Take necessary decision on cut off / WIP
- Ensure all BL provides all bills un-booked, ordered or service consumed to the accounts department
- Respect the reporting deadline of HO / MCA AD50 and other reports (To refer the timetable for deadlines)
- Ensure all costs are charged to the same period of revenue generation
- Ensure costs are correctly allocated between the Business Units
- Validate the BV group ageing statement monthly and take necessary actions for all outstanding over 30 days.
- Ensure that all BV group disputes are followed up till it is resolved
- Co-ordinate with the BL in resolving disputes
- Ensure that all fixed assets of the company are periodically verified, and adequate internal controls prevailing
- Forecast and Budget
- Plan all necessary tasks to ensure that the Group deadlines are met
- Involve all BL / support function in budget process
- Ensure consistency and accuracy in budget figures
- Record / evaluate all budget assumptions
- Cash Flow Management
- Ensure that the CIDS DSO objectives are met and that collection procedures are respected
- Ensure all variance of OCF are addressed with HO and management
