Accountant (GL)

Key Responsibilities

General Ledger Management: Maintain, reconcile, and balance the general ledger; ensure all transactions are accurately recorded and coded

Journal Entries: Prepare and post journal entries for various accounting transactions, including accruals, deferrals, and adjustments

Account Reconciliations: Perform monthly reconciliations of GL accounts and investigate discrepancies

Financial Reporting Support: Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports

Documentation: Maintain clear documentation of accounting transactions, policies, and procedures

Tax: Tax preparation and filing for Compensation Taxes, Final Taxes, Expanded Withholding Taxes, VAT, Corporate Income Tax

Compliance: Ensure adherence to GAAP, local accounting standards, and Bureau Veritas financial policies

Audit Support: Prepare schedules and documentation to support internal, external, and BIR tax audit activities

Process Improvement: Identify opportunities to streamline GL processes and enhance efficiency

Collaboration: Work with other accounting and finance team members to resolve issues and meet deadlines

Required Qualifications

Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field

Experience: 2–4 years of general ledger accounting experience

Technical Skills:Proficiency with accounting software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, NetSuite) and Microsoft ExcelStrong understanding of GL structure, account coding, and reconciliation procedures

Competencies:Excellent attention to detail and accuracyStrong organizational and time-management skillsAbility to work independently and meet deadlinesClear written and verbal communicationProblem-solving mindset

Knowledge: Familiarity with GAAP and month-end close procedures

Preferred Qualifications

CPA (Certified Public Accountant) or CMA (Certified Management Accountant) designation

Experience with multi-entity or multinational accounting

Exposure to testing, inspection, or certification industry accounting

Experience with financial consolidation or intercompany accounting
