Job Responsibilities:
 

  • Conduct audits in accordance with BRCGS Food Safety standards to ensure compliance with food safety, quality, and regulatory requirements.
  • Review and evaluate food safety management systems in manufacturing, retailing, inspection, or enforcement sectors.
  • Identify and document non-conformances, and ensure corrective actions are implemented.
  • Prepare and submit detailed audit reports, outlining findings, observations, and recommendations.
  • Work closely with clients to ensure they understand the requirements of BRCGS standards and guide them through corrective actions.

 

Job Qualifications:


Work Experience:

  • Minimum of 5 years of post-qualification experience related to the food industry, including roles in quality assurance or food safety within manufacturing, retailing, inspection, or enforcement.
    • For BRC START! program, a minimum of 2 years of post-qualification experience is required.


Education:

  • A degree or diploma in a food-related or bioscience discipline.
    • In cases where no degree or diploma is present, extensive relevant work experience (a minimum of 10 years) may be accepted with written approval from BRCGS.


Training Requirements:

  • Completion of a Registered Management System Lead Assessor Course (e.g., IRCA) or BRC Third Party Auditor course delivered by a BRC-approved trainer.
  • For BRC Food Audits, completion of the BRC Food Third Party Auditor course or BRC Food Understanding Requirements Course and Report Writing course is required (delivered by a BRC-approved trainer).
    • For BRC START! auditors, completion of the Auditors Guide to the START! Programme is also required.
  • Successful completion of an industry-recognized HACCP training course (minimum 2 days) based on Codex Alimentarius principles, evidenced by passing an exam.
