Position Overview
Bureau Veritas is seeking an experienced Inspector - Electrical & Instrumentation (E&I) to join our team. This role is critical to ensuring quality, safety, and compliance across Oil & Gas and Petrochemical projects. You will work alongside EPC Contractors, manufacturers, and client representatives to inspect, verify, and validate electrical and instrumentation systems throughout construction, testing, and commissioning phases.
Key Responsibilities:

On-site Inspections: Attend all inspections with client and EPC Contractor representatives for:
- 33 kV, 11 kV, 3.3 kV, and 415 V AC power distribution systems
- Instrument installations and switchgear
- Control gear, cathodic protection, and HVAC systems
- 110V AC UPS and 24V DC UPS systems and associated infrastructure

Documentation & Planning: Prepare and review method statements and Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs) in coordination with QA/QC and Project Engineers

Quality Assurance:
- Prepare comprehensive QA/QC reports on inspections, materials, and nonconformance issues
- Verify implementation of corrective actions
- Conduct quality control of electrical materials upon site receipt

Compliance & Verification:
- Review all site drawings and documents for approval status and project compliance
- Perform function tests on control valves, SDVs, and ESDVs
- Ensure all equipment and special tools are available and properly calibrated with valid certificates

Factory & Site Acceptance Testing: Attend FAT and SAT of all HV and LV electrical equipment, liaising with EPC Contractors, manufacturers, and client representatives
Required Qualifications:
-
Education: Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Instrumentation Engineering, or Control Engineering

Experience: Minimum 10 years in Oil & Gas and Petrochemical Industries as an inspector, with demonstrated expertise in:
- Construction of new and Brownfield modifications to electrical power distribution systems (33 kV, 11 kV, 3.3 kV, 415 V)
- Switchgear, control gear, distribution boards, and UPS systems
- Earthing, lighting, underground cabling, and cathodic protection systems
- EPC Contractor and Vendor design documentation interpretation and application
- Instrumentation and control systems in DCS environments
- Modifications to ESD, Fire and Gas systems, and control room architecture
- Package boiler instrumentation systems

Certifications:
- Required: ASME, AWS, API, DNV, ISO, and BS certifications
- Required: FAT/SAT experience
- Preferred: Compex Atex certification

Technical Competencies:
- Proficiency in interpreting and applying international standards (ISO and equivalent)
- Strong knowledge of electrical and instrumentation systems in industrial environments
- Experience liaising with multiple stakeholders (contractors, manufacturers, clients)

Language: Fluency in English (written and verbal)
Preferred Qualifications:
- Compex Atex certification
- Additional certifications in relevant standards (IEC, NFPA, etc.)
- Experience with DCS commissioning and control system modifications
- Prior experience with similar-scale petrochemical or offshore projects
