Position Overview

Bureau Veritas is seeking an experienced Inspector - Multi Discipline to join our Oil & Gas and Petrochemical inspection team. This role involves third-party inspection and verification across multiple disciplines, ensuring compliance with international codes and project specifications during fabrication, testing, and surface treatment activities.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Vendor & Manufacturer Oversight: Understand and verify compliance with Vendor/Manufacturer Quality System requirements
  • Document Review & Verification: Assess Manufacturer/Vendor documentation against Purchase Orders, Material Specifications, and relevant codes (ASME, AWS, API, DNV, ISO, BS)
  • Material Receiving Inspection: Conduct comprehensive receiving inspections of all permanent project materials supplied by EPC Contractors
  • Welding Verification: Witness, verify, and endorse Procedure Qualification Records (PQRs) and Welder Qualifications
  • Inspection & Test Plans: Review and approve multidiscipline ITPs, procedures, and site queries
  • Welding Inspection & Monitoring: Monitor, inspect, and approve all welding activities, welding procedures, and NDT works; sign weld/NDT logs
  • Post-Weld Heat Treatment (PWHT): Review and approve all PWHT works
  • Non-Destructive Testing (NDT): Review all radiographs and NDT reports; assess NDT procedures and methodologies
  • Equipment Inspection: Inspect pressure vessels, heat exchangers, pressurized piping, and structural works during fabrication
  • Hydrostatic & Pneumatic Testing: Witness and verify testing activities
  • Surface Treatment: Inspect surface preparation, painting, coating, wrapping, and insulation activities
  • Non-Conformance Management: Raise Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs); verify corrective and preventive actions; review and approve concession requests
  • Material Control: Ensure compliance with Material Control, Preservation, and Storage procedures
  • Reporting: Prepare concise weekly and monthly inspection reports with technical accuracy

Required Qualifications

Education:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Welding, or Metallurgical Engineering

Experience:

  • Minimum 10 years in onshore and offshore oil and gas/petrochemical industry
  • Proven third-party inspection and verification experience across multiple disciplines:
    • Welding and Process Piping
    • Mechanical Equipment
    • Painting, Coating, and Wrapping
    • Hydrostatic Testing
    • Advanced NDT Methods (with ability to assess NDT procedures)
  • Demonstrated experience in:
    • Review and approval of multidiscipline ITPs, procedures, and site queries
    • NCR and concession request management
    • EPC Contractor liaison and coordination

Technical Knowledge:

  • Very good spoken and written English, including technical report writing and QA/QC documentation
  • Proven knowledge of international codes: ASME, ANSI, API, AWS, BP, BS, ISO, ISO EN 1024, and DNV
  • Computer literate with familiarity in relevant inspection and documentation software

Certifications (Required):

  • BGAS Level 2 or NACE Level 2 certification

Certifications (Desirable):

  • CSWIP 3.1 or AWS-Sr, CWI, or ERS welding inspection certification
  • PCN Level II qualification
