Position Overview

Bureau Veritas is seeking experienced Lifting Inspectors and Senior Lifting Surveyors to join our inspection and certification team. In these critical roles, you will conduct comprehensive inspections of lifting and handling equipment, prepare detailed technical reports, and ensure compliance with international standards and regulatory requirements.

 

Position Levels & Requirements:

Lifting Surveyor

  • Minimum Experience: 7 years in inspection and certification
  • Reports To: Senior Technical Management

 

Senior Lifting Surveyor

  • Minimum Experience: 10 years in inspection and certification
  • Reports To: Technical Department Head

 

Required Qualifications

Education

  • Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent)

Mandatory Certifications & Training

  • LEEA Certification (Minimum 4 levels)
  • Diploma in Lifting Equipment Inspection and Certification
  • In-house Training: Inspection of Equipment in Hazardous Areas (Zone II)
  • NDE (Non-Destructive Examination)
  • H₂S (Hydrogen Sulfide Awareness)
  • Breathing Apparatus certification
  • Fire Fighting Training
  • Basic First Aid
  • Offshore/Sea Survival Training

 

Technical Knowledge

  • Comprehensive understanding of lifts, elevators, escalators, and lifting/handling equipment
  • Fundamentals of equipment mechanics and operational principles
  • Knowledge of inspection methodologies and certification protocols

 

Key Responsibilities

Primary Functions

  • Conduct thorough inspections of lifting equipment in compliance with international standards
  • Prepare comprehensive, accurate technical inspection reports
  • Document findings with precision and clarity

 

Technical Expertise

  • Demonstrate advanced knowledge of machinery operation and equipment functionality
  • Apply specialized expertise to complex inspection scenarios
  • Provide technical guidance and recommendations

 

Quality & Compliance

  • Ensure all inspections adhere to Bureau Veritas Quality Standards
  • Maintain compliance with federal legal requirements and international regulations
  • Verify equipment meets all applicable safety standards

  • Demonstrate honesty, integrity, and punctuality in all duties
  • Maintain accuracy in documentation and reporting
  • Exhibit professionalism and courtesy in all interactions
