Position Overview
Bureau Veritas is seeking an experienced Senior NDE (Non-Destructive Examination) Inspector to join our specialized inspection and certification team. This role is ideal for a seasoned professional with deep expertise in welding inspection, NDT methodologies, and quality control within the Oil & Gas and Petrochemical sectors.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive non-destructive examinations using multiple testing methods (UT, MT, RT, PT) on welded structures and components
- Interpret and evaluate NDE results in accordance with applicable codes, standards, and specifications (ASME V, API-1104, ASME/ANSI B31.3, API RP 2X, AWS D1.1)
- Set up, calibrate, and maintain NDT equipment to ensure accuracy and compliance
- Perform welding inspection and quality control assessments throughout fabrication and construction phases
- Organize, document, and prepare detailed technical reports of all inspection findings
- Ensure all testing activities comply with relevant industry standards and client specifications
- Mentor junior inspection staff and contribute to continuous improvement of inspection protocols
- Collaborate with project teams to resolve inspection discrepancies and ensure quality standards
Required Qualifications
Education:
- Technical Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in an Engineering discipline (or equivalent technical education)
Experience:
- Minimum 15 years' experience in Welding Inspection, NDT review, and Quality Control
- Minimum 8 years' experience in Oil & Gas and Petrochemical Plant environments
- Demonstrated proficiency in multiple NDT methods and their practical applications
Certifications:
- ASNT Level II certification in all four methods: UT (Ultrasonic Testing), MT (Magnetic Particle Testing), RT (Radiographic Testing), PT (Penetrant Testing)
- ASNT Level II certification is preferred
Technical Competencies:
- Thorough knowledge of the scope and limitations of each NDT method
- Proficiency in equipment setup and calibration procedures
- Expert-level knowledge of relevant codes and standards: ASME V, API-1104, ASME/ANSI B31.3, API RP 2X, AWS D1.1
- Strong computer literacy and experience with inspection documentation systems
Language & Communication:
- Excellent spoken and written English language skills
- Ability to write clear, comprehensive technical reports
- Strong communication skills for cross-functional collaboration
Preferred Qualifications
- ASNT Level III certification in one or more NDT methods
- Experience with advanced inspection technologies and digitalization tools
- Prior experience working with Bureau Veritas or similar certification bodies
- Knowledge of additional standards (ISO 5817, EN 1712, etc.)
- Project management experience in inspection programs
