Job Description 1: Instrument Technician (Oil & Gas)

Position Type: Short-Term Contract
Industry: Oil & Gas

Overview

Experienced Instrument Technician needed for short-term contract to install, maintain, and calibrate instrumentation systems in hazardous oil and gas environments.

Key Responsibilities

• Install, maintain, and calibrate instruments (pressure, temperature, level, flow transmitters)
• Troubleshoot instrumentation malfunctions
• Ensure HAZEX and hazardous area compliance
• Document all maintenance activities
• Support commissioning/decommissioning activities

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 3+ years oil and gas instrumentation experience
• Valid HAZEX Certificate
• Hazardous Area Certificate
• Experience in classified areas (Zone 0, 1, 2)
• Valid driver's license

Desirable:

• ATEX/IECEx certification
• PLC/SCADA experience
• Confined space entry certification

Working Conditions

• Conduct safety checks and insulation testing
• Ensure HAZEX and hazardous area compliance
• Document all maintenance activities

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 3+ years oil and gas electrical systems experience
• Valid HAZEX Certificate
• Hazardous Area Certificate
• Experience in classified areas (Zone 0, 1, 2)
• Valid electrical trade certification
• Valid driver's license

Desirable:

• ATEX/IECEx certification
• VFD and motor control experience
• Confined space entry certification
