We are seeking a senior professional with a curiosity for identifying and developing opportunities with existing and new clients, who will look ahead to achieving growth in line with the Building Infrastructure’s market growth strategy.

 

Position Overview

 

The Business Unit Manager – Buildings & Infrastructure (BNI) will be responsible for the overall leadership, growth, and profitability of the BNI business line. This includes developing and executing strategies, managing P&L, driving business development, and ensuring the successful delivery of large-scale construction, infrastructure, and project management engagements.

 

The role requires a balance of strategic vision and hands-on operational leadership, ensuring high-quality service delivery while capturing new growth opportunities in the Philippine market and beyond.

 

Key Responsibilities

 

1. Strategic & Financial Leadership

  • Develop and execute the BU’s short- and long-term strategy in line with corporate objectives.
  • Take full P&L responsibility, including revenue growth, margin improvement, and cost control.
  • Drive diversification into new business lines (e.g., PMC services for manufacturing, energy audits, digital engineering solutions).
  • Monitor and report financial KPIs, ensuring sustainable growth and profitability.

 

2. Business Development & Client Engagement

  • Expand market presence in the Buildings & Infrastructure sector through proactive business development.
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships with government, private developers and operators, consultants and industrial clients.
  • Oversee proposals, bids, and negotiations to secure new contracts.
  • Ensure high levels of client satisfaction and repeat business.

 

3. Operations & Project Delivery

  • Oversee the planning, resourcing, and execution of multiple large-scale projects.
  • Ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to required technical standards.
  • Monitor project risks, claims, and variations, implementing mitigation strategies.
  • Lead PMO initiatives including dashboards, schedule control, and process improvement.

 

4. People Leadership & Organization Development

    • Lead and develop project managers, engineers, and support staff to achieve high performance.
    • Conduct performance reviews, succession planning, and talent development.
    • Foster a culture of accountability, innovation, and continuous improvement.
    • Ensure team alignment with corporate compliance, quality, and safety standards.

 

5. Governance, Compliance & Risk Management

    • Ensure compliance with corporate policies, statutory regulations, and industry standards.
    • Oversee subcontractor management, procurement, and contract administration.
    • Lead risk management practices, including CAPA (Corrective & Preventive Action) processes.
    • Champion sustainability, ESG compliance, and adoption of digital inspection technologies.

 

Qualifications & Experience

    • Bachelor’s degree in Civil/Structural Engineering, Architecture, Project Management, or related discipline (MBA/Master’s preferred).
    • Minimum 10–15 years’ experience in construction, engineering consultancy, or TIC industry, with at least 5 years in a senior management role.
    • Strong track record of P&L accountability and delivering profitable growth.
    • Proven success in business development and client management.
    • Strong leadership, communication, and negotiation skills.
    • Familiarity with BIM, digital engineering platforms, and sustainable infrastructure practices is advantageous.
