About the role

As a Compliance & Legal Officer based in the Philippines, you will provide essential compliance and legal support across a range of matters, helping ensure Bureau Veritas maintains the highest standards of compliance and risk management. This is an excellent entry-level opportunity to develop your career in compliance and legal advisory within a respected global organisation, with mentorship and hands-on experience across diverse compliance and legal functions.

Key Responsibilities:

• Compliance Support: Assist in delivering compliance training and advice to internal teams and stakeholders
• Compliance Programs: Support compliance initiatives rolled out by Head Office, including the Annual Compliance Declaration and related activities
• Investigation & Ethics: Assist in investigating potential breaches of the Code of Ethics reported through whistleblowing systems and other channels; provide recommendations under supervision
• Contract Support: Review and assist in negotiating client contracts to ensure alignment with Bureau Veritas principles and contracting standards
• Corporate Governance: Support corporate governance activities, including maintaining registers and assisting Boards and Company Secretaries
• Legal Assistance: Provide support across insurance, property, intellectual property, disputes, and compliance reporting matters

What you’ll bring:

• • Bachelor of Laws (LLB) degree or equivalent legal qualification
  • Excellent critical thinking and problem-solving abilities
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Willingness to work hard and be flexible with timing and context
  • Ability to learn quickly and adapt in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to explain complex legal concepts clearly
  • Ability to build and maintain strong stakeholder relationships

Preferred Qualifications:

• 0-2 years of experience in compliance, legal, or risk management (fresh graduates encouraged to apply)
• Experience or exposure to contract review and negotiation
• Familiarity with corporate governance or ethics frameworks
• Knowledge of Philippine labor and business regulations
