Job title: Civil Inspector

Education: Engineering degree (Civil/Structural Engineering preferred)

Specialty: Construction Site Temporary Structures I.e. Scaffolding, Formwork, Temporary bridges/gantries, Shoring systems, Temporary support frameworks.

Experience : Minimum 5 years’ experience in Commercial building construction, Infrastructure development, Civil engineering projects, Industrial facility construction, Renovation and restoration works.

Technical knowledge:

1. Evaluate temporary structures through systematic technical visual inspection verifying alignment and level, material condition, connection point integrity, deformation, etc.
2. Advanced understanding of national and international construction standards, including BS, EN, and ISO regulations.
3. Thorough understanding of requirements of local Accreditation Body where applicable.
4. Proficient in interpreting technical drawings.
5. Thorough understanding of temporary works components i.e. vertical support, horizontal platforms, diagonal bracing, base plates and foundation supports, connection joints and couplers, access ladders and walkways, formwork, shuttering.
6. Deep insights into scaffolding engineering, formwork design, temporary support systems, and shoring techniques.
7. Ability to Integrate theoretical knowledge with practical site experience, ensuring that temporary structures meet rigorous safety and engineering standards throughout the construction process.
8. Understanding of compliance reporting and record-keeping requirements.
9. Ability to generate comprehensive reports and present findings effectively with photographic documentation.
10. Strong written and verbal communication skills to convey technical information to various stakeholders.
11. Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
