Responsibilities (Obligation to ensure that the action is taken):

Responsible for representing the company as a Renewable Power Specialist, particularly as a Wind Turbine Expert/Engineer:

Project Development Stage

  • Review of Technical Specifications, Design and Equipment Selection
  • Provide comments on technical documents for completeness and conformance to regulatory, statutory and internationally accepted codes and standards
  • Provide technical/engineering support, as required.

Pre-Construction Phase

  • Review of contractor’s submittals for Wind Turbine and Generator aspects of the project
  • Provide comments of contractor’s technical documents for completeness and conformance to contractual and regulatory stipulations
  • Provide technical/engineering support as required
  • Review of technical drawings, engineering and performance tests, including preparation, and participation in design review meetings with contractors
  • Review, comment, update and support the client in the development and management of integrated project schedules through coordination with contractors
  • Support review of design change submittals

Construction Phase

  • Site Representation, as necessary
  • Review construction and installation progress;
  • Perform Quality Assurance audits of Contractor’s quality control plan and documents;
  • Review Third-party testing report for compliance;

Start Up and Commissioning Phase

  • Site Representation, as necessary
  • Review start-up and commissioning progress;
  • Perform Quality Assurance audits of Contractor’s quality control plan and documents;
  • Review Third-party testing and commissioning report for compliance;

 Accountabilities (Answerable to a particular activity/action to a particular entity):

  • Provide timely reports on reviews, assessment and audits conducted
  • Attend to site works, as necessary, to represent the client interests throughout the project
  • Submit timely comments on technical document and drawing reviews 
  • Verify and sign off on test and inspection certificates, as offered by the contractors

Education

Minimum Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent

Working experience

At a minimum 10 years experienced as a WTG engineer involved in the development, technical design, construction and/or commissioning and O&M phases of renewable energy projects
