Job Description – Metals Laboratory Supervisor
Position Paying - $25.00 - $29.00 per hour
Job requirements may include, but are not limited to:
- Managing the day-to-day operation of the department
- Control/authority over staff, which includes recommending hiring and firing
- Ensuring the overall quality of the analytical data produced by the department
- Providing technical guidance to laboratory personnel (i.e., QA/QC, problem solving and resolution)
- Reviewing and approving analytical data
- Recommending capital equipment and preparing justifications
- Responsibility and authority for ensuring that the quality system of the laboratory is implemented and followed at all times
- Routine sample preparation
- Performing routine analysis for the analytical department
- Client interaction
Required Experience, Education, Certifications
- College degree in science
- 5 years of experience directly related to industrial hygiene and/or environmental techniques
- Ability to interact with clients and all levels of staff
- Leadership experience desired
- Detail oriented, self-starter, strong written and verbal skills
- Capable of making sound decisions quickly and effectively
- Ability to handle multiple projects and work in a fast-paced environment
Preferred Skills and Qualifications
The ability to work with clients and all levels of staff, detail oriented, and self-starter, strong written and verbal skills, capable of making sound decisions quickly and effectively, ability to handle multiple projects in a fast-paced environment. Availability for overtime work on evenings and weekends to meet client workload demands. Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel. Ability to maintain a clean and organized laboratory environment.
