As part of a Head Office Bureau Veritas Group, we are recruiting a Technical Support Director – Building & Infrastructure (F-H-X).
Reporting to Marc, Executive Vice-President Urbanization & Assurance, you will join a team of multidisciplinary technical experts based worldwide.
This position is based in Paris, France and includes the regional visits for knowledge transfer and technical support.
You will work closely with our operational teams and our clients within the framework of global technical governance and best‑practice implementation across Bureau Veritas B&I services.
WHAT YOU WILL ACCOMPLISH
Your mission is to establish and harmonise technical standards and best practices across Bureau Veritas’ global B&I operations, ensuring consistent, high‑quality project delivery and strategic technical oversight. Your role is essential to enhancing technical excellence, knowledge transfer and continuous improvement organisation‑wide.
You will accomplish :
- Strategic Technical Leadership – develop and deploy a global technical roadmap aligned with Group values; establish governance frameworks, standards and best practices for construction/infrastructure; act as primary technical advisor for complex projects and key business decisions; drive innovation and identify emerging industry opportunities.
- Global Team Coordination – lead multidisciplinary technical teams across regions; build technical communities of practice and knowledge‑sharing networks; harmonise standards across global B&I sites and subsidiaries; mentor staff and support career development initiatives.
- Operational Excellence – develop technical standards, specifications and maintenance systems; lead quality‑assurance reviews, audits and compliance initiatives; create training programmes and facilitate continuous improvement; ensure environmental, safety and quality standards adherence.
- Stakeholder Influence – influence senior executives and cross‑functional groups (engineering, operations, commercial, finance) to adopt technical recommendations; build consensus around technical initiatives with competing priorities.
- Cross‑Cultural Coordination – harmonise technical standards across multiple regions with differing cultural, regulatory and operational contexts; balance global consistency with regional needs through a “core + flex” framework.
THE SKILLS THAT WILL MAKE YOU STAND OUT
- Comprehensive Construction Expertise – expert‑level proficiency in construction technologies, BIM systems, sustainability standards (LEED/BREEAM) and quality/compliance frameworks; ability to establish technical governance.
- Communication and Presentation Skills – clear, persuasive communication across regions and cultures; ability to conduct workshops and knowledge‑transfer sessions.
- Strategic Vision & Solution‑Oriented Mindset – capacity to design and implement multi‑year technical roadmaps and seize emerging market opportunities.
- Ability to Influence Across Organizational Levels – proven track record of aligning diverse functional groups and influencing senior leadership without direct authority.
- Cross‑Cultural Coordination & Diplomatic Approach – experience harmonising standards in varied cultural and regulatory environments.
- French and English Proficiency – strong command of both languages to interact with global stakeholders.

WHAT YOU MUST HAVE
You have at least 10 years of relevant experience in construction technologies and technical governance. A Master’s degree or an MBA is required.
